Our Company
Established in 2010 Total Metal Products Ltd (TMP) are a sector leading machine design and tool making company.
Based from our purpose-built premises in South Gloucestershire, close to the M5 & M4 motorways and a number of major airports, TMP has grown into a toolmaking design, manufacturing and production business with a turnover in excess of £5m per annum.
Our in-house teams have an extensive knowledge of and experience in Stretch Forming, Stretch Bending, Roll Forming, Welding Jigs, Assembly Jigs, Metal Punching, Metal Piercing, Tool Making Design, Tool Room production services and Manufacturing Services.
At our core are our staff. We are proud of our team of very highly skilled personnel, who have many years expertise in design, toolmaking, manufacturing process design, machine manufacture, system build, commission and after sales service.
One of our key business objectives is to keep our toolroom assets up to date with the latest technologies. For over 10 years TMP has invested heavily into our toolroom.
CNC Machines
Our current toolroom consists of the following CNC machines, which are all fitted with Renishaw tool and spindle probes:
- Haas UMC 750 - full simultaneous 5-Axis CNC machining centre
- Mazak QT250MY - CNC turning centre with live tooling turning / milling
- Haas VM-3 – high-performance VMC with 4-Axis
- Haas VF-9/40 – large capacity VMC with 4-Axis
- Haas VF-4SS - high-performance Super-Speed VMC
- Haas VF-4 – 3-Axis VMC
Our CNC machines are supported by a comprehensive range of automated and manual tool room equipment.
TMP has a continual commitment to invest in our toolroom assets, expanding our team of qualified and experienced tool makers, as well as promoting our apprenticeship program.
Tooling
Our ‘in-house’ tool design, tool manufacture and build areas, and industry experienced project management team, allow us to control projects very tightly and we are able to react quickly and effectively to customer requirements, changes in specification, modifications etc.
Our extensive tooling design and toolmaking across multiple sectors enables us to come up with solutions from basic concepts to innovative high end production solutions. Through our associated engineering services team, we can also assess feasibility of customer produced component designs, both speeding up product development and also reducing tooling costs.
Via TMP Manufacturing we can provide a full range prototype services and provide a lower cost low volume production service.

Company History
Total Metal Products Limited (TMP) was started by Steven Richards, the Managing Director, initially as a machine tool service solution.
The business quickly grew to become a sector leading designer and supplier of bespoke machine tools to multiple industry sectors including the automotive industry.
Total Metal Products Limited partners with TMP Manufacturing, both part of the TMP Group of companies, for the supply of aftermarket and low volume manufactured components for the automotive sectors, with customers ranging from OE to Tier 1 & 2.

Total Metal Products moves into its own dedicated workshop (leasehold property)
2012
Investment into our first CNC Mill
2013
Investment into a second mill and a CNC lathe
2014
Invested into a new Haas VF-9 Milling machine c/w 4th Axis
2015
Formation of TMP Manufacturing - focusing on Component manufacturing for the automotive sector
Completed a large R&D Project culminating in a new servo CNC stretch bending control system.
Formed TMP Manufacturing as a partner company to compliment Total Metal Products.
2016
Formation of the TMP Group, to deliver strategic growth in key areas
Purchased and moved to our current location.
Extended the building to create more manufacturing space

Invested in an EDM Wire Cutting technology

Winner of ‘Company of the Year’ at Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Business Awards

Further investment into CNC Turning with Live tooling with the purchase of a MAZAK QT250MY

TMP is awarded ISO 14001 and 9001 Environmental and Quality awards

TMP Group invests in the purchase of Unit 1, an additional 12,000 square foot facility.

TMP invests in a 10-foot Faro Platinum arm and associated CAM2 Software

Total Metal Products provides a leading UK medical equipment provider with automated manufacturing lines to increase their capacity in line to support the UK Government with their Covid 19 Pandemic planning (Nightingale hospitals)

TMP expands its High-Speed milling capacity with the addition of a new HAAS VM-3 VMC complete with High-Speed machining software

2021
Total Metal Products invests in a 2015 Haas UMC -50 SS high-performance 5 axis VMC
TMP continues to expand its High-Speed milling capacity with the addition of:
- HAAS UMC-750 5-Axis CNC universal machine centre; and
- HAAS VF-4 VMC complete with High-Speed machining software
2021
TMP Manufacturing relocates to Unit 1, providing TMP Manufacturing with greater capacity.
Total Metal Products gains 400 sq. M of additional space to accommodate its continued expansion
2022
TMP Group boosts its commitment to the Environment and its ISO 14001 objectives with the investment into its own solar farm.
The roof mounted solar panels will help reduce our carbon footprint and control our incoming energy costs.
Our 66.60 kWp system will produce 50kW of AC power; reducing our CO2 emissions by 12.85t CO2 annually or the equivalent of planting 590 trees.
2022
Total Metal Products invests into building a new roll forming line. The line is the same as our key customers which enables us to test their tooling in our build and development area prior to shipping. This greatly reduces our customers test & sign-off time plus significantly reduces our customers downtime and costs.

TMP Group forms TMP Turkey to provide in-country service support to our key customers, also enabling us to provide in-country business, product and service development for new customers.

New Capabilities
TMP expands our CNC High Speed milling and turning capacity with the addition of a Haas UMC 750 5-Axis and Mazak QT250MY turning centre. Further investment in our toolroom, build room and design centre are planned for 2023.
The Future at TMP
At TMP we continually reinvest in the business. TMP launches operations in North America and Turkey. TMP reduces its environmental impact by installing a 66 kWp solar farm.
